About this deal

Pay4Later Limited is registered in England and Wales (company number 06447333) and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (register number 728646). That was because the focus action is light enough that the objective lens system, which moves when focusing, would creep slightly outwards, towards near focus, while the binoculars hang on your chest. You might just notice a faint jitter of the view and slight changes in the focus that I didn’t find too troublesome. BUT, on the canon 15x50, I don't see the "swivel" in the center of the binoc's that allows someone to make them wider or narrower (swing out/swing in) to fit in a persons eyes.

A single-activation button located precisely where the right forefinger naturally rests makes using them easy and allows you to concentrate on viewing without distractions. This "crime" is on par with Kowa's stubbornness in sticking with very poor/uncomfortable eyecups on their premium Kowa Highlander Prominar BT despite having much more comfortable replacement eyecups. What I found interesting was the fact that if you use these binocs with the IS OFF, the optics appear only fair, but when you switch it on, the optics take a quantum leap upward. No, the IS is not rock steady in a standing position (but certainly an improvement still), but when I sit down or recline in a chair and brace my elbows, it is steady enough to see details that otherwise would be lost in the shakes. This phenomenon apparently affects some more than others and I am obviously one of the unlucky ones.It took a bit of time to adapt but by the end of first session they felt comfortable with two hand grip and not too heavy for prolonged observing. They are water and fog resistant, and offer continuous IS operation mode, ideal for cruising along night sky. The weight did start to factor after about an hour of use, but by that time the cold breeze got to me and I was ready to stop.

I visited numerous open clusters including, but not limited to M41, M46/47, M48, NGC2451, M35, M36, M37, and M38. Please register for an account to take part in the discussions in the forum, post your pictures in the gallery and more.

My IS 10x30s -- admittedly much lower draw than 15x50s -- having been running for more than a year of fairly heavy use on one pair of lithium cells. My wife's new Canon camera (elph) takes a flat proprietary battery that must have it's unique charger. They will certainly change with time and location, and listed here just for relative comparison between different models. With the one I had on loan, I viewed stars a few times, and the images remained pinpoint with the stabilizer on, meaning that the stabilizer did not begin to wander off axis on its own, and there was no need to disengage/engage the IS to keep the image optimum.

If you are reasonably steady on a star cluster, say, you push the button once (don't have to hold it down) and in a second or two it stabilizes and stars pop into view that you couldn't see otherwise. I was somewhat concerned that with all additional optical elements the views will be not as bright as in traditional binoculars. This IS offers faster reaction times, which I am sure sport spectators and bird watchers would appreciate, but for astronomy I would rather go with group two for cost, weight, and size savings, or with group one for aperture, power, and UD glass. Canon 15x50 IS All Weather Image Stabilised Binoculars features optical Image Stabilizer for superb sharp and steady viewing in harsh conditions or marine environments. So I would not recommend them as your first choice birding binoculars, but they are ideal Binoculars for Astronomy and because of the IS feature that negates the need for a tripod can also be convenient enough to use anywhere and for many other purposes.NiMH batteries are much better, but if you don't mind using disposable batteries, lithium cells work best of all. High magnification (15x) binocular with large 50mm objective lenses and Canon's excellent image stabilisation system to help reduce hand shake. This is in contrast to many responses to a thread I started a while ago asking about this specific issue.

Previously on good nights I saw the gap with 15x70 on monopod as well, so both binoculars are capable of resolving it.Even if you need a pair of binoculars of over 10x magnification for bird watching, the most you would want to use since you walk around a lot would be something of 7x or 8x magnification.
